Typical Guide Costs For Kit Builds
Every commission is different, hence the need to discuss your build scale, model type, after market add ons and paint/build schemes. Below you can find TYPICAL base prices to give you an idea of costs. Prices below EXCLUDE the cost of the kit as these can vary from as little as £2-3 from ebay for a 1:72 scale, to £250 for a top of the range 1:24 scale. If you already have a kit, send it to me and I'll build and paint it for you!
1:72 Spitfire Airfix
Your standard, out of the box WW2 fighter kit, less than 100 parts. Build cost £20
1:72 B17 Revell
Still small scale, WW2 Bombers (B17/Lancaster/HE111 etc). Build cost £50
1:48 BF109 E Eduard
Medium scale fighters, 100-200 pcs and photo etched parts. Build cost £70-£100
1:48 HE111 Revell
Again, medium scale bombers, 200+ pcs. Build costs £80-£150
1:24 F6F Hellcat Airfix & bigger
Due to the size, number of parts and paint requirements. Build costs £250+
1:350 Ships
Dependent on number of parts and use of photo etch. Build costs £100-£250

Dependent on number of parts. Build costs £30-£50
Photo Etched Parts
Photo etching uses incredibly thin metal which needs to be bent into shape, but adds amazing detail. Some kits come with parts, others are after market.
BIG projects
Some of the ships, like Matchbox 1:72 scale PK901 Corvette (1000+ pcs) will be in the region of £200-£300 depending on complexity.
